If our previous exploration of orbital vision showed us how to redefine truth from above, today we must look at the physical engines making that vision possible. While we often discuss Artificial Intelligence as an ethereal “cloud” of code, at Ambiente Ingegneria, we see a different reality: AI is a resource-intensive industrial process.
The recent shift in the semiconductor landscape dismantles the myth that software is the only limit. When Nvidia reportedly halts production of its flagship gaming cards (the RTX 5090) to prioritize AI silicon, and Google launches prototype satellites to test space-based data centers, they are acknowledging a hard truth: compute is a finite, physical resource. Even Anthropic is now following the trend of designing in-house chips to escape the supply bottleneck.
For us, as engineers who develop integrated Machine Learning solutions and RAG-based assistants, this hardware scarcity changes the engineering equation. We can no longer rely on “throwing more hardware” at a problem. If the emissions from specific chip usage are now comparable to the output of major coal producers, our responsibility shifts toward efficiency.
At Ambiente Ingegneria, we promote the use of rigorous standards and precise database analysis to ensure that every line of Python and every custom Odoo module is optimized. The “Industrial Revolution” of AI won’t be won by those with the most chips, but by those who use data-driven engineering to make every watt count.
